David Gouldson
CIVIL CELEBRANT
I consider it the highest honour to officiate and deliver a Celebration of Life service for a loved one who has passed away.

It's a task I never take lightly. It involves a variety of roles, including listener, creative writer, biographer, counsellor and entertainer. It can sometimes be a difficult job, but ultimately, it's a privilege to be part of a ritual that assists families and friends to say a proper goodbye to a recently lost loved one.

My personal ceremonies focus on celebrating the life of the person who has died, rather than focussing on the circumstances of their death. I primarily recognise and pay tribute to the departed to reflect the many facets, interests, achievements, and happy times that made up the life that has been lived.

I write each ceremony from scratch as your loved one deserves a bespoke and unique send-off.
I strive to deliver a sincere, respectful and meaningful service. Just because the service is sincere, doesn't mean it has to be sombre either. Many people lived lives full of fun and lightheartedness and I can reflect this attitude in the service.

Upon being engaged to officiate the ceremony, I will arrange to meet with the family of the deceased and record details of the deceased's life to depict the true character of the person.
We'll put together an order of service and talk about favourite music suggestions that might be played during the opening, photo tribute and final farewell. I'll then go home and begin to write the service. I'll send the family a draft to check all the facts are correct.

I'll make myself available via phone, email, at any time you may need.

There is nothing easy about losing a loved one no matter the circumstance. Your heart is broken and your soul weeps for the loss BUT knowing that there are people that will handle the whole process of celebrating a life with the utmost professionalism, sensitivity, and respect is absolutely priceless.
